05/27/2015 - Nomination „GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2016“: Four in a row

The Dauphin HumanDesign Group has received four nominations for the “GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2016” from the German Design Council: "Kick-off" from Dauphin, "speed-o" from Trendoffice, "4+ Relax" from Züco and for the innovative concept of the Orgatec stand in 2014.

Offenhausen, May 2015. The Dauphin HumanDesign Group's products have always been developed and produced to meet the most demanding requirements when it comes to design, quality and function. This consistent approach has paid off yet again. The global office furniture manufacturing group from Germany has literally been bombarded with design prizes, with four nominations for the “GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2016” alone.

The German Design Award is a prestigious international prize presented every year by the German Design Council. Merely being nominated is regarded as an award for design competence. It is not possible to enter the competition in the normal sense. Because of the unique nomination procedure, only products and communication achievements which stand out owing to their particular design competence are invited to take part.

The design competition, which was first held in 2012, is well respected even beyond specialist circles. This year, the expert jury has nominated among other things the "Kick-off" office swivel chair from Dauphin, the "speed-o" swivel chair range from Trendoffice, the "4+ Relax" lounge chair from Züco and the Dauphin HumanDesign Group's Orgatec stand in 2014.

Dynamic design with "Kick-off" from Dauphin

The new "Kick-off" office swivel chair from Dauphin brings dynamism to the office. With its organic styling and flowing lines, it is well worth a nomination for the German Design Award 2016. Designer Martin Ballendat deliberately designed the chair as an economical and ergonomic fully-functional chair with a contrasting light and dark colour scheme. The supporting plastic backrest shell with a vertical slatted structure allows an active yet relaxed seated posture and thus ensures particular comfort when sitting. At the same time, the gently rounded shape of the chair is elegantly reflected in the armrests. As a result, "Kick-off" radiates a pleasant homeliness which is often missing in today's offices. "speed-o" from Trendoffice – as colourful as life itself

The new "speed-o" office swivel chair from Trendoffice is an exciting symbiosis of modern design, user-friendly ergonomics and environmental responsibility. This more than justifies a nomination for the “GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2016”. At first glance, the new range stands out with its bold, modern design – with its bright colours, distinctive lines and no-nonsense look, "speed-o" promises uncomplicated individuality. The perforated, breathable backrest shell in combination with black or white plastic parts gives the chair a fresh, timeless appearance which is personalised thanks to coloured cushions. Relax in style with "4+ Relax" from Züco

Distinctive design with clear lines and gentle curves – this is the "4+ Relax" lounge chair from Züco, another nominee. The seat and backrest are two separate shells which move synchronously in a monolithic, sculptural manner. The armrests are an extension of the backrest and form a seamless unit. The backrest tilt can be infinitely set and thus adjusted to provide individual comfort. With its understated design and bold, unique appearance, the new lounge chair creates a sense of excitement and dynamism. Rounded off by a selected range of materials including high-quality leather and fabrics, "4+ Relax" not only looks comfortable but feels comfortable too. (Design: Roland Zünd)

"Solutions by Dauphin" trade-fair concept for the Orgatec 2014 with inspiring seating and furnishing solutions

Last but not least, the Dauphin HumanDesign Group's innovative Orgatec trade-fair concept has been nominated. The company used the Orgatec 2014 as an opportunity to demonstrate its integrated approach in a highly ambitious manner and to offer solutions for the optimum working environment in the office and at home. On the basis of a combination of products from the successful Bosse, Dauphin, Trendoffice, Züco and Dauphin Home brands, office concepts tailored to specific needs, exclusive individual concepts and intelligent product design were presented at the stand covering over 1,000 square meters. The stand was structured like an administrative building. It began at the reception with reception solutions, continued with various "open space" office set-ups as well as individual, shared and management offices and finished with small, spontaneous conference areas and large meeting rooms. There were also small, mobile work units and integrated open plan rooms, recreation areas and even tea rooms – all with matching designs and all from a single source. Rather than proposing rigid solutions, the aim was to inspire visitors to create individual, motivational working environments.

The final winners will be presented and officially announced at an exhibition event which forms part of the Ambiente international trade fair in Frankfurt (12 - 16 February 2016).
